Series: Islamic Information Series No. 5 Source: The Reign of Islamic Da'wah Centre, Toronto, Canada [islaam.ca] Published: 2005 Islam is the true religion of the Almighty Creator. The rules, rights and guidelines contained therin are those which bring justice, morality and uprightness to all men and women. Islam is often the targeted as a religion of injustice, intolerance and especially oppressive towards women. This could not be further from the truth, women in Islam have right to their own wealth, property, inheritance, the right to chose their own spouse, they have never lost their name and lineage due to marriage and the issue of vieling and modesty is often mistook for backwardness and oppression. This is truly an enlightening read. "For Muslim men and women, for believing men and women, for devout men and women, for true men and women who are patient and constant, for men and women who humble themselves, for men and women who give in charity, for men and women who fast, for men and women who guard their chastity, and for men and women who engage much in God's praise, for them has God prepared forgiveness and great reward." [Qur’an, 33:35]
